Routine maintenance is recommended, just like with any other skateboard or longboard. Over time, water and usage will take a toll on your hardware. You should plan to occasionally clean or replace components like your bearings and other hardware. Thanks to the fully modular design, the boards are easy to disassemble and reassemble for simple maintenance. The pivot points, aluminum rails, and storage tubes can all be safely cleaned out using water.
